I have to give glory to God for anything in me that is good.

When you visit Beckie’s blog you get a real sense of calm…at least I did. I don’t want to sound crazy but Christian’s have a way to bring calm with their faith and it is clear here at Beckie’s blog. Her first post that I stumbled upon was the Meme about “Why I Blog“. It is great to see the reasons people blog and it gives a real insight into the minds of bloggers and why they choose to dedicate time to this way of expression. Nice job Beckie and keep on blogging!

You can be critiqued too at Critique My Blog. Go ahead~you know you want too.

Rules from God

Got this in an email and you may have seen it before, but I wanted to share it.

1. Wake Up !! Decide to have a good day.
“Today is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” Psalms 118:24

2. Dress Up !! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. “The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart.”
I Samuel 16:7

3 Shut Up!! Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. “He who guards his lips guards his soul.” Proverbs 13:3

4. Stand Up!!… For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything.. “Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good…” Galatians 6:9-10

5. Look Up !!… To the Lord.
“I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13

6. Reach Up !!… For something higher. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, And He will direct your path.”
Proverbs 3:5-6

7. Lift Up !!… Your Prayers.
“Do not worry about anything;
Philippians 4:6

Unconscious Mutterings

I decided to try this meme. The purpose of this exercise is just to have a little fun with word association. There are no right or wrong answers. Don’t limit yourself to one word responses; just say everything that pops into your head.

  2. Jason :: Spitzer
  3. Suspicion :: Caution
  4. Tender :: Loving
  5. Tempted :: Run
  6. Crimson :: Red
  7. Repulsive :: Disgusting
  8. Bulldog :: Ugly
  9. Garage :: Car
  10. Racket :: Noise / Tennis

If you’d like to play along, visit the home of Unconscious Mutterings and check it out.
This morning I’m feeling:

Friday’s Feast #131

What sound, other than the normal ringing, would you like your telephone to make? I love the sound of birds in the Spring, the ocean, a stream so any of those would be wonderful. EXCEPT, it would have to be so loud that it would probably scare me which is annoying…and that’s how it is now; so how about no sound!

Describe your usual disposition in meteorological terms (partly cloudy, sunny, stormy, etc.).
My usual disposition is sunny, but some days it’s like a hurricane (just ask my family).

What specific subject do you feel you know better than any other subjects? How you should live your life HA HA. Again, just ask my family, they say I’m bossy.

Main Course
Imagine you were given the ability to remember everything you read for one entire day. Which books/magazines/newspapers would you choose to read? Only one ~ the Bible.

If a popular candy maker contacted you to create their next confection, what would it be like and what would you name it? Since I don’t have much of an imagination, I’d just go with one that has a marshmallow center with chocolate on the outside. Hmmmmm, isn’t that called a Mallow Bar???

Right now, I’m feeling:

As if you didn’t already know, it’s Valentine’s Day WEEK! Yep, I’ve decided that it should be a week and not just one day! I mean, after all, Christmas lasts a month and love is just as important! Love is what gave us Christmas~the celebration of our Savior’s birth!

Iris, from Sting My Heart, is posting this week on Love and Marriage. Today’s post Becoming a Better Wife has some excellent advice. She shares from her heart and her experience.

Nominees have been announced for the Hidden Treasure 2007 Blog Awards at Every Day Mommy, so be sure to head over there a pick your favs! Voting ends FRIDAY, Feb. 16 (that’s THIS Friday) at 11:59 p.m., so don’t delay. Be sure to vote for the name of the post and NOT the name of the blog. Jules even has a sample ballot for an example. She’s thought of everything!

I made the most awesome discovery last week. A bible toolbar for your web browser! Sometimes when I’m blogging and need to make reference to a scripture, my Bible isn’t always handy, but this toolbar is right up there! You can get it a Bible Gateway.

Just have to share this picture of daughter and granddaughter…two beauties!

Kelsey and Rachel

I saw this at Sting My Heart and wanted to participate. I wasn’t surprised at the results:

You Would Choose Love

Money may buy a little happiness, but not the happiness of true love.
You rather have a true soulmate than a private jet.
And while many people may claim they would choose love too…
You’re one of the few who would really do it.

Favorite Ingredients Friday!

Overwhelmed With Joy is sponsoring Favorite Ingredients Friday~Valentine’s Day Chocolate Edition and I’ve been waiting all week to share this recipe with you! I thought it would be one that not too many people knew about~but I was wrong. I thought I see if there was a picture of one out there and did a Google search. Do you have any idea how many links came up? 22,600! Anyhow, I did not find a good picture so after making it the other day, I took pictures. Here’s the recipe:

1 chocolate cake mix
20 oz. can cherry pie filling
2 eggs
1 tsp. almond extract
1 c white sugar
3-4 T. margarine
1/3 c. milk
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Cake: Mix by hand the cake mix, pie filling, eggs and almond extract until blended. Pour into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool in pan.
Icing: Heat in saucepan the suger, margarine and milk. Boil 1 minute only, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and immediately add chocolate chips. Stir until smooth. Pour (while still warm) over cooled cake, making sure to seal the edges with icing.

It is sooooo easy and sooooo good. It’s very moist and won’t last long! ENJOY!!!
