As if you didn’t already know, it’s Valentine’s Day WEEK! Yep, I’ve decided that it should be a week and not just one day! I mean, after all, Christmas lasts a month and love is just as important! Love is what gave us Christmas~the celebration of our Savior’s birth!

Iris, from Sting My Heart, is posting this week on Love and Marriage. Today’s post Becoming a Better Wife has some excellent advice. She shares from her heart and her experience.

Nominees have been announced for the Hidden Treasure 2007 Blog Awards at Every Day Mommy, so be sure to head over there a pick your favs! Voting ends FRIDAY, Feb. 16 (that’s THIS Friday) at 11:59 p.m., so don’t delay. Be sure to vote for the name of the post and NOT the name of the blog. Jules even has a sample ballot for an example. She’s thought of everything!

I made the most awesome discovery last week. A bible toolbar for your web browser! Sometimes when I’m blogging and need to make reference to a scripture, my Bible isn’t always handy, but this toolbar is right up there! You can get it a Bible Gateway.

Just have to share this picture of daughter and granddaughter…two beauties!

Kelsey and Rachel

I saw this at Sting My Heart and wanted to participate. I wasn’t surprised at the results:

You Would Choose Love

Money may buy a little happiness, but not the happiness of true love.
You rather have a true soulmate than a private jet.
And while many people may claim they would choose love too…
You’re one of the few who would really do it.

Blast from the past

I’ve been tagged! Iris from Sting My Heart tagged me with this meme. You may have seen it before, but you haven’t seen it with my “answers.” The object is to go through all your posts and pick out one in each category: Funny, Serious, Ugly (or a Rant) and About Me.

The one I picked for Funny was one I borrowed from a friend because I thought it so well described what it’s like getting older. My Serious post was back in July. Although there were others I could have chosen, this is a very serious matter to me.

As for my Rant, I believe several people would have to agree with this one. It’s not directed at any one person, but at the “system” which we all must live under.

About Me. Well, I’m taking a little different approach for this one. This post is about me but it’s not the typical 100 Things About Me list (because I’ve never done one). No this one is better~I think.

I really do appreciate Iris having tagged me. Sooooo, now it’s my turn. I’m going to tag Lazy Daisy, Insanity Prevails and Flip Flop Floozie. I know each of these Bloggers personally and if you read this post, you’ll discover how we met.

Today I feel:

First and foremost, I was visiting A Chelsea Morning this morning and read about Kelli. PLEASE, PLEASE either read Barb’s post or go to BooMama‘s blog and see how you can help Kelli.

After visiting the Dr. yesterday afternoon, Rachel found out she is a little uncommon (but I already knew that). One in 30 deliveries result in the problem she had. I won’t go into the details, but let’s just say, it wasn’t a pretty sight. She’s fine, just tired. AND she started back to school this week. Thankfully, she only has one class a day for four days but TONS of homework.

Kelsey is doing beautifully, of course. She likes giving us challenges though. After a nap while changing her diaper, she likes to wet again. No matter how we time it, we always get it wrong. She smiles LOTS. People can say what they like, I don’t think it’s all gas!!! She’ll be three weeks old tomorrow.

My friend and neighbor has asked me to be her accountability partner as she begins a program of weight loss. I don’t know if I’ll be much help…I think I already made her mad when I took away her potato chips last week when we went to lunch. Pray for me, I don’t want to be too hard on her…but I know how she is. LOL!

Today that same friend and I will be starting a new Beth Moore bible study ~ Daniel. I had started this once before but had to stop because it was at night. Our schedules just don’t work well for me to be out late at night so when this morning opportunity came along, I grabbed it.

One more thing. I’ve been told that I have a southern accent, a twang, no accent, but I never heard this about me. It was fun.

What American accent do you have?

Your Result: The Midland

“You have a Midland accent” is just another way of saying “you don’t have an accent.” You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

This week Laurel Wreath is hosting New Year’s Meditations. I wasn’t sure I wanted to participate but as I began to reflect on how much God has blessed me this year and what I want to do for Him this year, I thought of Laurel Wreath’s invitation.

My prayer is that God will bless each of you richly in this New Year. Since I’ve been blogging for a year now, I want to thank each of you that has encouraged me along the way either through prayer, encouraging words or just stopping by to say Hi. It has blessed me beyond measure~my cup runneth over.

For my immediate family, I would like to know for sure that each member has a personal relationship with Jesus. Although, if I’m not sure, it’s OK because no one knows the heart except God.

With His help I pray that I will be a Godly wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. That is more important to me than anything else. I need His help because I am so easily pulled away by selfish things~like blogging and photography~not that these are wrong. I want to be sure that none of these interfere with my walk with the Lord. The purpose of my blog is to lift up the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and if at any time I stray from that purpose, I pray that one of my dear, Godly blogging friends will hold me accountable.

It is also my heart’s desire to be spiritually fresh. We live in a stale and arid world and can easily become that way too. God wants us to be a beautiful garden in the middle of a dry desert. Isaiah says, “…you shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not.” (Isa. 58:11) Yes, we will still experience trials and difficulties but our walk with the Lord can remain fresh. For me, I will not only stay in His word but study it on a more regular basis.

Finally, I would pray that if there is a lost soul who “happens” upon this blog, there would be something here that the Holy Spirit would use to stir in that individual’s heart to seek the Lord.

Very Interesting…ummmmmm

While checking out all the Photo Hunters pictures this morning, I found this and (you know me), I just had to give it a try. Now that I’ve done it, I’m not sure I like what it had to say…but it’s all in fun.

My Peculiar Aristocratic Title is:
Her Noble Excellency Beckie the Lackadaisical of Bumswick by the Hole
Get your Peculiar Aristocratic Title

Of particular interest is a new (to me) blog I discovered several weeks ago. The name is ShadowLight and the author is Sombra Knight. I say author because that’s what he is~and a very good one at that! He’s also a professional musician and an artist. If you like to read something very special, he also participates in another blog called Crossings. He, Sheila and Alix are writing a continuing story. Venture over there and check it out.

Just have a couple more things to say but Blogger won’t let me upload graphics now! So, you’ll have to just imagine…two glittery balls going up in the air, bursting and the words Happy New Year floating down. And the other one was a cute country snowman that said “Please let it snow!” Yes, Colorado has gotten all our snow this year! I’m sure they wish they could share some with us.

Happy New Year!!!!
