For your eyes only!

Just in case you’d like to see her again, I’ve added a link to check out some pictures of “Grammy’s Girl”. On my sidebar, under “Member Granny’s Gang” you will see “Grammy’s Girl~some pics”. If you click the button, it will take you to a new site where you can watch a short slideshow. Only 5 pics for now, but I hope to be adding to it.

Blessings to you all.

Blast from the past

I’ve been tagged! Iris from Sting My Heart tagged me with this meme. You may have seen it before, but you haven’t seen it with my “answers.” The object is to go through all your posts and pick out one in each category: Funny, Serious, Ugly (or a Rant) and About Me.

The one I picked for Funny was one I borrowed from a friend because I thought it so well described what it’s like getting older. My Serious post was back in July. Although there were others I could have chosen, this is a very serious matter to me.

As for my Rant, I believe several people would have to agree with this one. It’s not directed at any one person, but at the “system” which we all must live under.

About Me. Well, I’m taking a little different approach for this one. This post is about me but it’s not the typical 100 Things About Me list (because I’ve never done one). No this one is better~I think.

I really do appreciate Iris having tagged me. Sooooo, now it’s my turn. I’m going to tag Lazy Daisy, Insanity Prevails and Flip Flop Floozie. I know each of these Bloggers personally and if you read this post, you’ll discover how we met.

Friday Feast #128

Before I give you my offering, I’d like you to meet my brother-brother. Yes, brother-brother. He is my brother by blood and my brother-in-the-Lord. He’s over on My Photo Blog if you’d like to go take a peek. Btw…he and I are NOTHING alike! Just had to throw that in.

NOW, let the feasting begin.

If you could take lessons to learn any musical instrument, which would you want to learn?
Good question. I’m not musically inclined in the least except to sing~and not very well at that!. I guess I would love the play the harp! I think it’s one of the most beautiful instruments I’ve ever heard.

Have you ever mistaken a person for someone else?
Not usually. I’m pretty good with faces~now names, well that’s another story!

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how well do you keep secrets?
Probably about an 8. There aren’t many secrets I keep from my husband and since most secrets I hear are really good, I usually end up telling him~sorry!

Main Course
What’s the closest you’ve ever been to a dangerous animal?
Looking through bars at the zoo. I live a quiet life.

When was the last time you lost your patience?
Do I have to answer this one???? OK. I’m afraid it was last evening. You see, both our grown daughters are still living with us; one is married and her husband and daughter are also here and everyone was home except Hubby. We have a very small house. Well…last evening two of their friends came by with two children and brought a big box and bags of hand-me-down-clothes AND toys! There was baby “stuff” everywhere, plus our dog (who gets excited with company)! By the time they were leaving, I was about to scream. But my dear, sweet Hubby got home, could see what was happening and lovingly led me out into the kitchen so I could calm down~before I lost it. You can read more about him below.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Thy name, O Most High.” Psm. 92:1

Today, I want to share my thankfulness for my Hubby. We’ve been married 23.8 yrs. and I love him more today than ever! Reasons I’m thankful…

  • He loves the Lord and seeks to do God’s will always.
  • He loves me unconditionally even when I frustrate him.
  • He loves our children unconditionally.
  • He’s crazy about our granddaughter.
  • He helps me around the house even when I’ve been procrastinating.
  • He can fix almost anything that gets broken ~ but he doesn’t like plumbing!
  • He cuts wood and hauls it home for the woodstove ~ our sole source of heat.
  • He works hard at his job to provide for his family.
  • He always asks me what I want to do when we have time to spend together.
  • He doesn’t mind going shopping :0))
  • He always asks me if I want to go along on his errands, even if he’s going to haul away the trash.

What are you thankful for?

More Stuff

Today, while browsing again, I came across this hysterical post from Lazy Daisy that will make you laugh for sure~especially if you are…oh say…50ish.

You’ve heard about the 2007 Hidden Treasure Blog Awards for writing excellence sponsored by Everyday Mommy. Check it out here or on my sidebar. Nominations begin on February 1 which is only 8 days from now.

And, of course, you’ve heard about the Ultimate Blog Party where you can get your blog noticed. This one is sponsored by 5 Minutes for Mom and begins March 2. Go check it out…fun and PRIZES…some really good ones too.

BUT…have you heard about Performancing? If not, please go check this one out. It is one of the best online tools I’ve found for blogging. In fact, I’m using it right now. It’s like a word processing program that, when started, comes up on the bottom half of your screen while you are surfing or blogging or whatever. I actually left the above links open in my browser while typing this entry! If you are anything like me, I forget to copy a link address or forget the exact name of a blog. With this program, the blog or website is on top of my window. Once I’ve finished my post, I’ll send it to publish to this blog. It features many of the same utilities your blog editor does. Sometimes I’m not very good at explaining things well, so go check it out. It’s pretty amazing.

This and that

This is how things look today. Hubby goes to work very early and I wasn’t sure I wanted him to go, but he checked the road in front of our house and said he thought it would be ok to go (since he has 4-wheel drive). I didn’t hear anything, so I guess he made it safely.

Yesterday’s picture was of the snow coming down, today’s pic is the view off our front porch. We live in a rural community so the road in front of our house is narrow. Schools were closed~snow plow just went by.

Speaking of Hubby…I have to tell you (and he will too) that he is not a computer person. HOWEVER, last evening while fixing dinner, I found this! Yes, he was on the computer and on the internet!! Wonders will never cease. I had to take a picture…just in case he ever forgets that he was on. He wants to take a road trip this Spring to see some of New York, Ohio, and West Virginia. He’s checking out the Ohio River Museum. Aunt A, if you are reading this, you MAY see us this coming Spring! :0))

Last, but not least, Rachel made the President’s List in college! Unfortunately, she had to drop two of her classes but will continue to go part-time. Being a mommy is much more important right now.

Update: 2:00 p.m. ~ the sun is shining.
