God is sooooo good! We’ve needed rain for some time now. No, there’s been no advisory to cut back on your use, but the yards are turning brown and rivers and streams getting low. Which means, those of us who have a well, need to conserve.

Yesterday evening God answered our prays. We had the most wonderful rain ~ and it wasn’t just a little shower ~ it was a good, soaking, long rain! Took some pics in our garden ~ you can see them on My Photo Blog.

Blessings to you today!

Are you a worrier?

This morning I read this scripture: “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not.” Matt. 6:27 (NLT)

I must have read this a hundred times before, but as a forgiven sinner, I still struggle with it~although not as much as I used to. When I was single many times I’d wake up at night and start worrying whether or not I’d done something at work…did I remember to do this; did I send that out? Often I’d stay awake a couple of hours worrying. Inverably, one worry would lead to another.

After I married and we had children, I’d worry about them constantly. The biggest worry seemed to be: is she still breathing, should I take her to the doctor, and on and on.

With age comes wisdom. God has shown me over and over again that He is in control and all my worrying isn’t going to change a thing or…make my life any longer! Now, I pray instead of worry (most of the time).

Blessings to you today!

Appetizer –
If you could have a free subscription to any magazine, which one would you like to have?
Can I have more than one??? The first one would be Christianity Today. I also love finding new recipes and anything country, so I would love to get Country Woman. Since I’m experimenting with picture taking, a photography magazine would be great.

Soup – Describe your living room (furnishings, colors, etc.).
Unusual. We have three walls that are painted an off-white and one that is painted rust red. That wall has a cross-cut saw that’s been painted with a winter scene (by my sister-in-law). We have brownish/red leather sofa and loveseat and a glider rocker. The lamps are also unusual…they look like a surveyor’s tripod (wooden) with beige shades. The house was built with a katty-korner fireplace in which we’ve inserted a woodstove.

Salad – What does the shape of a circle make you think of?
Not a square…lol! It makes me think of eternity. Do you know where you will spend it????

Main Course – Name 3 things in your life that you consider to be absolute necessities.
My Bible, money (only in the sense that you need to eat, have a place to live, pay bills, etc., etc. but only enough to get by) and last but not least, my computer.

Dessert – What was the last really funny movie you watched?
That’s easy. We just saw RV with Robin Williams. It is really funny. Our son-in-law rented it because Hubby had said he heard it was good.

Still here!

Good Morning all! Yes, I’m still here. Haven’t felt well this summer…physically or mentally…but am on the road to feeling like me again ~ thank the Lord. We’re having cooler weather which makes me feel better too. A big thank you to those who have continued to visit and post comments on my last post!

We still have dial-up internet and it takes me a lot longer to post and read than it does most of you so I found myself spending too much time doing this. I will probably stop doing some of the memes and just post what’s going on in our lives.

As mentioned previously, we’re expecting our first grandbaby in December and it’s a girl. Now Mom and Dad are struggling with the name. Had the baby been a boy, he would have been named for his mom’s father. Emily was the first choice but they couldn’t agree on a middle name. Anyone have any suggestions?????

Local schools started today so I’m looking forward to a quieter neighborhood. We have some screamers on both sides of our home. Having grown up as virtually an only child (brother is 13 yrs. older) I’ve never gotten used to kids screaming.

Canning is almost over for us this year. I’ve canned green beans, corn, tomatoes and salsa. This is the first year I’ve done salsa and it’s been fun trying to find a recipe that suits everyone’s tastes.

We have a new cat! His name is Wally~reason being, I found him in the Wal-Mart parking lot. He’s been to the vet and checked out good. In the next few weeks, he will be neutered and declawed. Don’t worry, he stays inside. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Wally! We’ve had him a couple of months now and he finally found his purr. He likes to play with Naomi, our Bassett/Beagle mix, but since she was here first and is several years old, she doesn’t quite know how to take him yet. They have begun playing and what a riot to watch.

That’s about it for today. Blessings to each and every one!
