Right now, I’m at the public library. You guessed it, my computer went down. The fellow fixing it said it was because I was blogging too much ;o} Not really, but he thinks I got a virus or spyware. Thankfully, if spyware is what I think it is, I don’t have any REAL personal info on it.

I’m going through withdrawals. I never imagined it would be so bad. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not. Anyway, hopefully, I’ll be back up real soon!

I MISS YOU!!!!!

What is the last thing you had to have repaired? Hubby is a handyman, he fixes everything! He does all the work on the vehicles, fixes plumbing leaks, anything that needs fixin’ so I’m not sure what the last thing was he fixed. He also refurbishes bicycles and that’s probably the last thing that was repaired around here.

Soup
If someone gave you $2,000 with the stipulation that you had to spend half of it on yourself and give the rest to charity, where would you spend the $1,000 and which charity would receive your remaining $1,000? We need some new windows in our older home and that’s probably where I’d spend my $1,000. There are a couple of choices for the remaining gift. We support a child in the Dominican Republic through Compassion and would probably use it for him. We also support the Pregnancy Help Center and we all know they can use the funds!

Salad
What is one of your favorite songs from the 1980s? Well, you got me on this one. That was 20 years ago and I don’t remember which songs came from the 80s. Once I became a believer, I only listened to Christian songs.

Main Course
You enter a pet store. Which section do you go to first? To see all the babies…no matter what kind. Most baby animals are so cute.

Dessert
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how athletic are you? Not very. My fingers would probably be a 10 but the rest of me…maybe a 3 or 4. Never have been athletic.

What BECKIE is thankful for this week

...the rain. Yes, I'm thankful for the rain we've been getting this Spring here in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Everything is sooooo green.

Of course we have flower gardens which are georgeous right now...which is none of my doing. We also have a vegetable garden for canning later this summer. Hubby has planted several kinds of squash, tomatoes, corn, green beans, brown beans and I don't remember what else. Naturally, the rain is perfect for those.

Another benefit of rain...it takes the pollen out of the air faster so I haven't had much trouble with allergies. We have a well, so more rain keeps the water table up.

I know some areas of the country have deluged with rain and having had the same experience, I can sympathize. But this too, shall pass.

My head is still spinning. Getting ready for a wedding and a baby can wear out a person. The weekend is almost a blur and it’s only Tuesday.

Last Thursday we got the wedding dress. Get this…it was the second dress she tried on and it was on sale! Yipeeeee.

Saturday Hubby and I went to a neighborhood yard sale (it was a VERY swanky neighborhood too) and got a stroller with a lift out car seat. I’d never seen that kind before but then I haven’t been looking at much baby stuff for quite a few years. That afternoon the girls and I went looking for Rachel’s shoes and a dress for me and Colleen (sister of the bride). We found one for me and it was on sale! Yipeeeee again! That night we had been invited to dinner with friends. When we got home the girls just wanted to talk.

Sunday was church and then dinner at Hubby’s mom’s house. All the kids (or spouses) bring a dish and “Granny” cooks the main course. Since there are 7 children (all but one was there) and spouses and all have kids, it gets pretty hectic.

Yesterday, the girls and I went looking for a dress for Colleen. After going all over a neighboring city, we finally found one…not on sale. Now remember, this wedding is on June 3, so we’ve been very limited in choices and colors. Rachel had to adjust her color choices. Lots of stress!

Throughout this entire time, I’ve had my new digital camera with me looking for unusual shots, even while we were shopping. Saturday, we walked up to a Lazy Daisy’s house to feed Spot, JJ and Lucy while they are away and I saw our neighborhood in a whole new way…from the camera’s point of view. I’m sharing some here.

An old store…

A dairy farm behind our house…

Note the old fence…

The road home (not ours)…

Been living two houses away for ten years and don’t recall ever seeing this one…

Just up the street is another farm…

Maybe next time I’ll have more time to take the date off!

What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream? Oddly enough, that’s a good question. It used to be chocolate but I don’t have a favorite any more. Hubby LOVES ice cream and eats just about any flavor so I just eat what we have.

Soup
What are 3 things you would like to put in a time capsule? I believe I’d put something in from my childhood like my mother’s white leather gloves, the locket with both my parent’s pictures or one of my dad’s pipes. It seems that things like these are already disappearing.
Salad
Name something you are 100% sure of. Praise God…I’m 100% SURE I’m going to Heaven!

Main Course
What is something you do to calm yourself when you’re stressed or upset? Usually, I have to get away from everything and everyone and pray. That always helps me get my perspective back.

Dessert
If you could receive an invitation to any important event, what would you like it to be? I’ve already gotten that invitation…I’m going to THE Wedding Feast! (If you have any questions, give me a shout.)

What BECKIE is thankful for this week
...my first digital camera! YIIIIIPPPPPEEEEE, I finally got one! My birthday is Saturday and Mother's Day is Sunday (DON'T FORGET YOUR MOM). Hubby is very special.

It's a Kodak EasyShare Z740. Larger than most digital cameras, it's very easy to operate and user friendly. The software that came with it, allows me to make all kinds of changes and modifications to the original picture. I've been having a ball with it today. That's why I'm so late in getting this up.

In honor of this auspicious occasion, I've started a new blog. Can you believe that! ;o) I started a photo blog. And if you'd like to see my first trial with digital pictures, you'll have to go visit My Photo Blog.
