Friday’s Feast

Appetizer
Choose one: Popcorn, Pizza, Pretzels, Peanuts, or Pasta. Mine would have to be peanuts although all the choices would probably fill me up before I could eat any more.

Soup
Describe your personality in terms of a particular vehicle. I guess I’d have to say a Ferrari. I’m usually not in one place (or doing one thing) very long.

Salad
If you won a shopping spree, from which store would you want it to be? ONLY ONE STORE!

Main Course
Which television show re-runs do you enjoy watching? Don’t watch TV.

Dessert
If you could look into the future, how far down the road would you like to see? 10 years? 100 years? A million? Only far enough to see all my family members saved.

Want to join? Check out Friday’s Feast.

Spring Cleaning?

Yep! Here it is Jan. 27th and I’m Spring Cleaning. Can you believe it? Here’s the scoop.

We live in an older home (may have mentioned that before) that has plaster walls. What a pain. In the 10+ years we’ve lived here, we’ve done some remodeling but very little in the living room. So-o-o-o, we decided to paint the LR. Know what that means? Patching. Know what that means? Dust. EVERYWHERE! It seems that after you patch the flaws its necessary to sand the patches. We put up plastic at the doorways and it helped but that stuff gets out regardless.

While we had all the furniture out (you should see my dining room), I decided it would be a good time to clean the windows and wash all the woodwork. I know, I know…it’ll be worth it in the end.

Actually, I guess I still have some Spring Cleaning yet to do…all the rest of the house. Oh well. If we ever decide to do this again, I hope I can vacation for the duration! There’s even dust on my keyboard. The pic is an exaggeration-but not much. That’s how it looked to me.

WISDOM

Today I found the following quote by Stephen Covey:

Whatever is at the center of our life will be the source of our security, guidance, wisdom, and power.

Don’t know if Mr. Covey is a believer, but I sure agree with his statement. How about it…who (or what) is the center of your life? I hope it’s Jesus!

Back in Blue

OK. I’m back to the blue. I had learned my way around this template and feel comfortable working with it. Thanks Tonia…your opinion does count! I seemed to have had too much “stuff” so this time it will be simpler. I’ll be adding more things soon, so please come back.

Thanks too to Vicki and and Tey for their comments. {{{{Hugs}}}} to all.

Will I Ever Be Content?

Here I go again! I’ve changed the look…one more time. I’m still learning my way around this template, so bear with me. I’m self-taught so my mistakes are plentiful. Fortunately, you don’t see most of them.

My friend asked me to participate in their Bible Study on contentment. I was afraid that once I started a self evaluation, I might discover that I really am not content (but I think I am). My friend said that I’m probably not discontent with myself, just trying to improve on the things I do in the name of the Lord.

Must remember to ask for His help as I do these things in His name.

RIBBIT!

Yep. We have a frog in our basement. UGH! I don’t have the slightest idea how he got there, but he’s there. After looking at some frog pictures, I discovered that it’s actually a toad. UGH, UGH, UGH. That’s even worse!

We live in an older home (built around 1945) and the basement is unfinished. My Hubby uses it as a workshop for repairing bikes (I like to call it “Mike’s Bikes”). As I rule I don’t go down there unless it’s to get some tomatoes I’ve canned. A couple of times, Hubby has seen two at the same time. Let’s hope they don’t multiply as quickly as rabbits. Toad city. I’ve asked him to catch it and put it outside, but I think he must consider it a pet because it’s still here. So we have one dog (Naomi), one cat (Star) and one (maybe two) frogs (toads). Naomi gets down there and starts barking at the frog. Of course, it doesn’t move…it just swells up.

The only kind of frog I like is the one on the left (KERMIT). I love the picture on the right, but I’m afraid ours looks like the one in the middle.

What’s the lifespan of a frog? Do frogs or toads cause warts?
